Religious School
The Religious School is open for families members in good standing with Temple Beth El (with strong decision to raise their children under the Jewish faith. Students attend Religious School from Pre-Kinder through Confirmation). Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation is part of the Religious School program. The class Schedule is Sundays from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm and Wednesdays for Hebrew from 4:00 pm. to 5:00 pm. Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation are by special arrangements with the Rabbi.
All grade levels will be expected to attend special activities and festivals. This includes Shabbat services, holidays and other special services. It is very important for parents to participate in their children's Jewish education. Parents are assigned to help with a special committee to be the host of a holiday. Together with a teacher they will organize and provide everything for the festival dividing the cost between them.
There is a Religious School Parents Handbook that explains the goals and guidelines in detail. Special guidelines and regulations for Bat/Bar Mitzvah students and Confirmation students are available by request at the Director's office.
